Itinerary
Arrive at Paro/Thimphu Airport and transfer to your hotel in Thimphu. Day at leisure to rest and acclimatize to the altitude.
Overnight Stay: Thimphu
Visit Tashichho Dzong – a magnificent fortress hosting the annual Tsechu festival. Explore Weekend Market for souvenirs and local crafts. Visit Changangkha Lhakhang, an ancient 12th-century Buddhist temple. Stop at National Memorial Chorten, a revered monument symbolizing peace and spirituality. Trek to Tango Goemba, a 15th-century monastery offering panoramic views.
Overnight Stay: Thimphu
Drive through Dochula Pass at 3,100 meters, adorned with 108 stupas. Visit Punakha Dzong, the largest dzong in Bhutan at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Explore Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, built by the Queen Mother for peace and prosperity. View Mo Chhu River, one of Bhutan's major rivers.

En route to Bumthang, stop at Trongsa, a historic village with royal heritage. Explore temples and hermitages that showcase the traditional Bhutanese culture. Arrive in Bumthang in the evening and check in at your hotel.

Day 5: Bumthang Sightseeing
Visit Jambay Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most revered temples. Explore Mebar Tso (Burning Lake), a sacred site in Tang Valley with scenic surroundings. Stop at Red Panda Brewery and Cheese Factory for a glimpse into local production. Visit Ura Valley, known for colorful houses, pastures, forests, and views of Mt. Gangkhar Puensum.

Drive from Bumthang to Paro, enjoying scenic landscapes and mountain vistas. Arrive in Paro by late noon; spend the rest of the day exploring nearby areas at leisure.

Trek to Tiger's Nest Monastery (Taktsang Monastery), perched 900 meters above Paro Valley. Visit the National Museum of Bhutan, housing art, paintings, and cultural artifacts. Explore Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge, an iron chain bridge built 600 years ago. Stroll along Paro Chhu River. Shop at Paro Weekend Market for stamps, antiques, handicrafts, and local cuisine.
